What a delightful find. I had arranged to meet a friend in the gift shop at the ROM and we needed a spot to sit and catch up. Lucky for us that she knew of this café in The Atrium at The Royal Conservatory of Music, located just west of the Royal Ontario Museum on Bloor Street. We spent about an hour in the peaceful atmosphere, enjoying tea and coffee. In addition, the instrument collection on display along the wall of The Atrium was very interesting and worth seeing if you are at all interested, especially, in piano.
We happened to find this place while walking south of Bloor in Philosopher’s Walk. It is attached to the back of the Royal Conservatory in the glass back part of the building. It is bright, with some seating, free wifi and musical instruments in the large display glass enclosure.
The lattes were some of the best we have had. They have assorted baked which we tried and they were quite good. There are some some good items such as wraps which we did not try.
The prices were reasonable. Unlike other coffee shops, we did not encounter the students on their computers doing all their work and occupying the tables forever.

If you’re going to a performance in the RCM, this is the place for you. The quality of the coffee and nosh available is very good. You won’t be disappointed, provided you get there well before the event. So after the real disappointment of visiting ROM, we were needing a “pick me up” coffee and came across the B Espresso Bar. It was perfect – great coffee (inc a really flavourful decaf) and a great setting with great service.
Staff are very friendly and will remember your name if you visit a few times.
If you’re seeking a cozy spot to unwind and enjoy a good book, this coffee shop is the perfect choice. They offer excellent coffee and freshly baked goods. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, and the staff is very competent. I couldn’t have asked for more, as everything I needed was readily available. Great job, everyone! Keep crafting fantastic coffee and pastries.
